About Analytics Director
Analytics Director is a support tool for automating the installation of Ribbon Analytics, and also for generating the Configuration Drives (iso files) required for upgrade and manual installation of Ribbon Analytics.
Analytics Director Life Cycle
Analytics Director uses the agile development and delivery methodology. Agile deployment and delivery are based on continuous development with test and regression occurring every month. This methodology does not allow for the backporting of fixes. Rather, fixes are provided in the next build based upon identification and validation availability.
The naming of each build uses <year.month> identification (for example, 19.12, 20.01). A build each month is not guaranteed. During each regression cycle, the quality of the build is assessed and a determination is made about whether to release the build.
Interoperability
Analytics Director 20.12.00R000 is compatible with the following releases of Ribbon Analytics:
- Ribbon Analytics 20.12.00R000
Note
If you are upgrading to Ribbon Analytics 20.04 from an earlier version, you must use Analytics Director 20.10 or earlier to generate the Config Drives for performing the offline upgrade of Ribbon Analytics.

VIGIL-19875 | 4 | Uploading an existing Config Drive in 20.10 causes the configuration to reset to the defaults Problem Description: In Analytics Director 20.10, when a Ribbon Analytics 20.04 configuration file was uploaded, all values were reset to the defaults. Root Cause: The button for uploaded an existing configuration was present in the UI, but was not functional, so although it appeared that the UI form was populating from the existing file, it was actually populating with default values. |
Fix Description: The UI is updated with the functionality to load the values from an existing configuration file. Test Steps: In Analytics Director, upload an existing 20.04 configuration file and verify that the field contains the correct values. Workaround: Manually create the configuration file in the UI instead of uploading the old configuration file. |
