L2 connections are used to connect between a DRE and a remote MTP2 using the M2UA protocol over SCTP.

When you are creating L2 Connections, you must make sure that you provide the appropriate Primary DRE ID to ensure proper communication between the respective DRE and its MTP Level 2. The Primary DRE ID represents the DRE to manage the MTP Level 2, which should be DRE resident on the DSC Platform.

L2 connections support IPv4 addresses, IPv6 addresses, and hostnames.

Hostnames must resolve to either IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, or a combination of both address types.
