The Slot Monitor (Slotmon) application monitors the status of all slots and system cards installed in a slot on a Sonus Signaling System. Specifically, Slotmon monitors:

  • the physical status of a card
  • the status of the IP address or addresses of a card
  • the status of individual applications on a card if any exist

When Slotmon detects a status change, a corresponding event or alarm may be triggered and recorded in ptisyslog, sent as an SNMP trap, or displayed in the Alarm Dashboard of the Web UI (see event numbers 6240 to 6279 in Alarm Definitions for a list of Slotmon related events). These events display a severity level, and indicate the card’s physical status, IP address status, or application status.

Slotmon information can be accessed using the Slot Monitor Details screen (see the following figure).
