How to Add a RADIUS Server

To add or modify a RADIUS Server:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Auth and Directory Services > RADIUS > RADIUS Servers.

Modifying RADIUS Server Properties

  1. Click the expand () Icon next to the entry you wish to modify.
  2. Edit the entry properties as required, see details below.

Adding a RADIUS Server

  1. Click the Add RADIUS Server() icon at the top of the RADIUS Servers Table page.

A RADIUS server will appear as Down in the Server Connectivity column of the RADIUS Servers Table until the UX has successfully pinged the RADIUS server three consecutive times. This process requires approximately one minute. You can check on the progress by clicking the Counters text in the row of the server about which you are concerned.

Add RADIUS Servers - Field Definitions

RADIUS Server

Specifies the IP Address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the RADIUS server.

Port

Specifies the port over which the UX will communicate with the RADIUS server for authentication or accounting.

  • Authentication Servers: use port 1812 (default)
  • Accounting Servers: use port 1813 by default, however you may use any valid non-reserved port.

Shared Secret

Specifies a text string used for authenticating with the RADIUS server.
