R2 Signaling - Field Definitions

Description

Specifies a brief description of the R2 Profile. For example: Basic R2 CAS Profile.

Orientation

Specifies the handling of inbound and outbound call collision.

  • User/Slave: inbound call is accepted, outbound call is released.
  • Network/Master: the system waits for the remote side to back off.

Incoming Signal Type

Specifies whether the CAS R2 profile uses MF or DTMF signaling for incoming calls. Default entry: MF.

Outgoing Signal Type

Specifies whether the CAS R2 profile uses MF or DTMF signaling for outgoing calls. Default entry: MF.

Line Signaling Options - Field Definitions

CD Bits

Specifies how the C and D bits are transmitted.

Used to specify the setting of the C and D bits transmitted, configured as a bit mask. The value specified is the decimal representation of a 2 bit binary bit mask. For example: to set the 'C' bit to one, binary 10 would be used and entered as 2.

Inverted ABCD Bits

Specifies the inverted A, B, C, or D bits, configured as a bit mask.

Used to specify the inverted A, B, C, or D bits, configured as a bit mask. The line signals are inverted according to this parameter before being transmitted. Received line signals are inverted before being interpreted. The value specified is the decimal representation of a 4 bit binary bit mask. For example: to invert the 'B' bit, binary 0100 would be used and entered as 4.

Meter Code

Specifies whether or not to send a metering signal and how it is implemented.

Metering signals are pulse type signals transmitted backwards during the call from call charging point to subscriber's call meter in the originating exchange.

Release Guard Time

Specifies the release guard time in milliseconds.

Release Guard Time is the interval during which an incoming R2 register waits when a clear forward line signal is received before sending an idle line signal. The value is specified in milliseconds. Zero indicates that the idle signal is to be returned immediately.

Seizure Acknowledgment Timer

Specifies the maximum time, in milliseconds, the outgoing R2 line waits for the seizure acknowledgment signal after sending sending the seizure signal. Zero indicates no time out is to be used.

Inter-Digit Timeout

Used to set the timeout time, in seconds, between dialed numbers. The Sonus SBC 1000/2000 does not currently support dial plans; the use of an inter-digit timeout is necessary to detect the end of digit dialing.

Register Signaling Options - Field Definitions

Request Calling Party Number

Specifies whether or not the Calling Party Number is requested.

Digits Received Before Request

Specifies the number of DNIS digits received before requesting the ANI. This parameter is not displayed if the Request Calling Party Number is set to Disabled.

Calling Party Number Length

Specifies the number of Called Party Number Digits received before requesting the Calling Party Number. This parameter is displayed only when Request Calling Party Number is set to Enabled.

Calling Party Digits

Specifies the fixed length of the Calling Party Number requested or sent. This parameter is displayed only when Calling Party Number length is set to Fixed.

Called Party Number Length

Specifies whether the length of the Calling Party Number requested or sent is variable or fixed. When variable Calling Party Number length is specified, the Group I-15 signal is used to indicate the end of Calling Party Number. Available only when Request Calling Party Number is set to Enabled.

Called Party Digits

Specifies the length of the expected Called Party Number. This parameter is displayed only when Called Party Number Length is set to Fixed.

Send End of Digit

Specifies whether or not the SBC sends I-15 to indicate the end of digits for the Called Party Number (DNIS). Available entries: Enabled or Disabled. Default entry: Enabled.

Forward Register Signals - Field Definitions

Calling Party's Category

Specifies the Group II forward signal sent after receiving an Address Complete backward signal.

Group III/C Tones - Field Definitions

Use Group-C Tones

Specifies whether the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 will use the Axtel switch implementation of R2 Group-C tones for Calling Party Number request. Default entry: Disabled.

Forward Register Signals - Field Definitions

Calling Party's Category on A3

Used to specify the Group II calling party's category signal to be sent on receiving the A-3 "Address Complete, Changeover to Group B" backward signal.

Calling Party's Category on Send CPC

Used to specify the Group II calling party's category signal to be sent on receiving "Send Calling Party's Category" backward signal.  This parameter is not displayed if the Request Calling Party Number is set to Disabled.

Group-I Tone

Specifies the Group-I tone sent in response to an ANI Request to indicate that ANI is restricted

Group-II Tone (CPC)

Specifies the Group-II tone sent in response to an ANI Category request to indicate that ANI is restricted.

Backward Register Signals - Field Definitions

Send Calling Party's Number

Specifies the the backward group A signal used to request the calling party's number. This parameter is displayed only if the Calling Party Number Request is set to Enabled.

Send Calling Party's Category

Specifies the backward group A signal used to request the calling party's category. This parameter is displayed only if the Calling Party Number Request is set to Enabled.

Address Complete (Changeover to Group B)

Used to specify whether Group B signals are transmitted after the SBC has received address digits.  If configured to Yes, the A-3 signal is transmitted to indicate that the SBC does not require additional address digits, and will transmit Group B signal to indicate the condition of the called party. If configured to No, the A-6 signal is transmitted to indicate that the SBC does not require additional address digits, but it will not send a Group B signal.

Send First Address Digit

Specifies the group A backward signal used to request the retransmission of the Called Party Number (starting with the first digit).

Subscriber Line Free Sent

Specifies the group B backward signal sent by the incoming R2 register indicating an idle condition of the destination party.

Subscriber Line Busy Sent

Specifies the group B backward signal sent by the incoming R2 register indicating a busy condition of the destination party.

Congestion Sent

Used to specify the group B backward signal sent by the incoming R2 register to indicate that the destination party dialed is congested.

Unallocated Number Sent

Used to specify the group B backward signal sent by the incoming R2 register to indicate that the destination party dialed is unallocated.

Subscriber Line Free Received - Field Definition

Subscriber Line Free Received B1 - B8

Specifies the group B-1 through B-8 backward signal received by the outgoing R2 register for an idle condition of the destination party.

Subscriber LIne Busy Received - Field Definition

Subscriber Line Busy Received B1 - B8

Specifies the group B-1 through B-8 backward signal received by the outgoing R2 register for a busy condition of a destination party.
