SBC Edge Software Downloads Overview

The SBC Edge download center provides registered customers and partners with the following downloadable software updates:

ASM Images

This section of the download center contains software images specifically for SBC Edge systems configured with a built-in Application Solution Module. These recovery images are typically used for re-initializing the ASM. For more details, see Updating the ASM Recovery Partition.

ASM Roll-up Updates

This section of the download center contains Update Packs for the ASM Roll-up system. For more information, see ASM Roll-up Update.

Licenses

This section of the download center includes Licenses for the SBC Edge. Licenses activate features introduced in new major (and sometimes minor) versions of the SBC Edge software. For more details, see Working with Licenses.

Log Exchange

Software Download bundle LX2.1 contains the installers for Log Exchange (LX) - the SIP log analysis and Syslog Server utility for the Sonus SBC Edge and VX gateways. For more information see Log Exchange. For Release Notes and File Downloads, please visit the Global Services Toolbox.

Lync Updates

This section of the download center is specifically intended for SBC Edge systems with a built-in ASM module deployed as Lync SBA. It includes cumulative Lync server package updates.

Downloading Software Files

Before you begin:
You will need a valid Ribbon Support Portal login.

All required SBC Edge software files are available through the Ribbon Support Portal. To access the software files, logon to using a valid account.

To download the software, see the following procedure:

Requesting the Software Bundle

Start
  1. Log in to the Ribbon Support Portal with your Ribbon-provided username and password.
  2. From the menu at the top, select Downloads.

  3. Product software is available from the Software Download Tool or the Global Software Center. View the lists of products under the Software Download Tool and the Global Software Center to determine which tool to use.
  4. If you are using the Software Download Tool, complete the following:
    1. From the Software Download Tool section on the left, click Download Software. The Software Download page opens.
    2. At the top of the Software Download page, click the Select Software tab. To determine the latest Software Bundle and the respective files, refer to the product Release Notes, and then perform the following:  
      1. From the Product dropdown list, select the desired product. The Software Bundle section opens.
      2. If applicable, from the Operating System dropdown list, select the product's operating system.
    3. Under Software Bundle, search for the desired product and click Request Download. The Software Download Form opens.

    4. Complete the Software Download Form.

    5. Click I Accept to accept the Ribbon Software End-User License Agreement and click Submit. The system responds with a Software Request ID and details of your software request. Ribbon Customer Support emails you when the software bundle is ready to download.

  5. If you are using the Global Software Center, complete the following:

    1. From the Global Software Center section on the right, click Download Software. The Global Software Center page opens after the system processes your login information.
    2. From the menu at the top right, select Software Releases > Advanced Search.
    3. In the Search field on the left, enter the name or description of the desired product or software bundle and click Submit.

      Note

      You may choose to select options for StatusSoftware Type, and Search Fields as required or leave them as default.

    4. Double-click the product you want to download.
    5. Click the filename of the software file you want to download and click Download.
    6. The first time you download a software file, enter the end user name and address details. Click Submit.
    7. Read the End User License Agreement. If you click I Agree, the patch downloads.
      You have completed this procedure.


Acquiring the Software Bundle 

When you receive the notification email from Ribbon Customer Support, click on the link in the email and follow these steps:

Start
  1. Log in to the Ribbon Support Portal with your Ribbon-provided username and password.
  2. From the menu at the top, select Downloads.
  3. From the Software Download Tool section on the left, select Download Software. The Software Download page opens.
  4. At the top of the Software Download page, click the Download Requests tab.
  5. Click the appropriate Software Request ID. The Software Request Detail page opens.
  6. Click on the URL hypertext to download the software.
  7. The browser redirects you to the following page and a pop-up window opens to save your file. If the pop-up window fails to appear, return to the Software Request Detail page, and re-select the software. When the About Download Manager window opens, click the click here link to save your file.

  8. Save the software to your local PC or server.
