It is often advantageous to attempt to reroute a call in the event that a first route is down or refused.

Cause Code Reroute Tables allow you to create tables that specify to VX which release codes will trigger a reroute, which will make VX try the next matching route in the Call Routing table before returning a failure to the user. The most common reason is 3 - No Route - but all standard codes may be used, except for 16--Normal Clearing. (The CLI permits advanced entering of non-standard codes, if required.)

Cause Code Tables are selected in the Trunk Group configuration.

View Cause Code Reroute Table

Select the Telephony > Cause Code Reroute Tables subdirectory for the VX node and view contents at the Cause Code Reroute Tables screen.

Add Cause Code Reroute Table

Insert a new line in the Cause Code Reroute Tables screen, then double-click the line to present the Edit Reroute Cause Code Tables dialog box.

Modify Cause Code Reroute Table

Double-click on table line in the Cause Code Reroute Tables screen to present the Edit Reroute Cause Code Tables dialog box.
