Configuring Network Domains enables the ability to add new custom namespaces (network-domain) in the VX. The VX supports detecting and forwarding precedece information will full support for preemption on all protocols supported in the system (except R2 and H.323 signaling).

The following is supported for customer configured namespaces

  • Inbound call MLPP precedence selection
  • Maximum precendence configuration
  • Preemption of active calls
  • Notification of preemption
  • Interoperability between different channel types (includes IP to TDM) and interworking between different namespaces
  • Enforcement of authentication of MLPP (SIP only)

View MLPP Namespace

Pre-defined namespaces (i.e., DSN,  DRSN, and Q.735) will not be populated in the MLPP Namespaces table. This table will populate only newly added custom namespaces (network domains) that the administrator wishes to configure.

If you attempt to add a pre-defined namespace, an error message is displayed.

  1. Access VX Builder.
  2. Select Telephony> MLP Network Domain and view contents at the Namespaces screen.

Add MLPP Namespace

  1. Access VX Builder.
  2. Right click in Namespace screen. Select Insert.
  3. Enter the number of lines to add. Click Enter.
  4. Right click on the newly added line (named "Unassigned") and select Edit.
  5. In the Edit Namespace dialog, enter the desired name.
  6. Click OK.

Modify MLPP Namespace

  1. Access VX Builder.
  2. Right click on the desired namespace and select Edit.
  3. In the Edit Namespace dialog, enter the desired name.
  4. Click OK.

Delete MLPP Namespace

  1. Access VX Builder.
  2. Right click on the desired namespace and select Delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
  3. Click OK.
